SALMAN RUSHDIE is calling on Hollywood casting directors to offer him more movie roles - after being bitten by the acting bug.
The controversial author made his debut, playing a gynaecologist in Helen Hunt movie Then She Found Me.
And Rushdie - who was issued with a fatwah after the release of his 1988 novel The Satanic Verses - admits he is hooked.
The 60-year-old says, "When I was at college I did more acting that writing, but I discovered I wasn't any good, so I did the other thing.
"Now it's like an unscratched itch. So if there are jobs, I'm available."
